Obituary of William Collier

William G. Collier, 82, of Independence, died Saturday at his home. He was a retired building contractor with Collier Construction Co., a member of Independence Christian Church and a building inspector with the City of Independence. He was a member of Bradford Masonic Lodge No. 123 F&AM and Scottish Rite. He was an Army veteran of World War II. A son, Michael Collier, died in 2003. Survivors include his wife, Billie Collier; a daughter, Linda Collier of Independence; and a son, Jeff Collier of Independence. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Independence Cemetery.
