Obituary of Donald Whitmire

Donald "Don" Neil Whitmire, 53, of Walton passed away suddenly Thursday, December 27, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare of Edgewood. He retired from the US Army and after was a file clerk for the IRS. He was preceded in death by his grandparents John and Willie Hightower. Survivors include his wife of 8 years Sien McGill Whitmire of Walton; daughters Karina McGill of Savannah, GA and Alana (Philip) Blackburn of Verona; sons Daniel Whitmire of Harrison, OH, Donald Whitmire of Indianapolis, IN, and Ian McGill of Honolulu, HI; parents J.R. and Janis Whitmire of West Harrison, IN; sister Mellisa (Mel) Gayer of Villa Hills; brother John (Sue) Whitmire of Sunman, IN; grandchildren Elizabeth, Raegan, Kourtlynn, Philip, Kamryn, Nathan, Gabriel, Jacob, and Andrew; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be from 10 AM until time of funeral service at 12 noon Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home of Independence.
