Carol Daugherty couldn't keep her 25-year-old daughter, Cassie Lee Parson, from moving to Kansas City, Mo. But she laments her daughter's ride on an all-terrain vehicle there that took her life Saturday, July 5.

"She was outgoing, fun-loving, she loved to ride horses and watch her son ride horses," Daugherty said. "She loved to take her son (Aiden Dyer, 3) to the park and feed the ducks."
Parson's older son, Jordan Andrew Glass, 5, lives in Louisville with his father.
As a girl, Parson, who attended Simon Kenton High School, was an outdoorsy "wild child," said her mother.
"She was just a fun-loving person" who wished to pursue a career in massage therapy.
"She wanted the world for her boys," Daugherty said. "They had dogs and cats and a horse - they actually moved out to Kansas City to get a fresh start" about three weeks ago.
"She come to me and asked for permission to go, and I told her, 'No, but I can't stop you,'" her mother said. She believes Parson had never been on an ATV until the ride that killed her. Daugherty said somebody else was driving.
"She loved family, she loved her sisters," Daugherty said, and she also loved the beach. "Anyone who met her, she stole their heart."
She grew up in Independence before moving to Boone County nine years ago. Visitation and the funeral were Thursday, July 10. Memorial contributions can be made to the Parson Family care of Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, P.O. Box 55, Walton, KY 41094.
Other survivors include her fiancé, Nathan Dyer of Hebron; step-father, Joe Siegert of Hebron; father, Darrell Parson of Las Vegas; sisters, Jenny McCubbin of Hebron, Rachel Parson and Chrissy Parson of Crescent Springs; grandmother, Jerry Daugherty of Latonia; and grandfather, Chester Capps of Dewitt, Ark.
