Obituary of Gayle McElroy

Ellis Gayle McElroy, 91, of Walton, died Tuesday at Brighton Gardens of Edgewood. He was a Realtor and proprietor of McElroy Realty, former Realtor with Coldwell Banker and West Shell, former advisor, consultant, and negotiator for the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport Board, former state appraiser for the Kentucky Department of Transportation, court appointed appraiser of Boone County, past president of the Kentucky Boone Board of Realtors, a member of First Baptist Church of Walton, Boone County Planning and Zoning Commission, and the Kentucky Real Estate Association, founding member and director of Sunrise Bank, founding member and trustee of St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood, and a former member of the Walton Lions Club. His wife, Helen Ruth Gardner McElroy, died in 1993. Survivors include a brother, Stan McElroy of Tiburon, Calif.; and a sister, Emma Lou Rodgers. Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Walton. Visitation will begin there at noon Sunday. Burial will be in Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge.
