Obituary of Rhoda Humphrey

Rhoda Pennington Humphrey, age 85, of Walton, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died Thursday morning, June 25, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center of Edgewood. She is survived by her husband of sixty years, Floyd E. Humphrey; three daughters- Rhonda Stephens of Walton, Theresa Simpson of Seattle, WA, and Marita Dean of Erlanger; two sisters- Maxine McCubbin of Union and Rosetta Snow of Williamstown; one brother- Virgil Pennington of London, KY; six granddaughters, one grandson, and six great grandchildren. Mrs. Humphrey was a member of Walton First Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher for fifty years. She retired from Walton Verona High School in May of 2000 after thirty-six years of dedicated service. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Chambers & Grubbs in Walton. Funeral Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Walton. Interment will be at Walton Cemetery. Memorials can be made to First Baptist Church, 47 South Main St., Walton, KY 41094.
