MORNING VIEW - Arthur T. Darnell, Sr., age 89, of Morning View died Saturday, August 22, 2009 at the Hospice of St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Edgewood. He was a retired heavy equipment operator for S.A Ruebel, a 50 year member of the Ohio Operating Engineers Local #18, a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, member of the USS Degrasse Reunion Group, attended Piner Baptist Church, member of Montana Avenue Church of the Nazarene, member of Pioneer Senior Group, a member of Masonic Lodge 362 in Amelia, OH, member of the Scottish Rite, a shriner, member of the Mt. Carmel, OH VFW, and a Kentucky Colonel. Formerly he worked as a machinist for Morris Machine & Tool in the winter months. He is survived by his wife, Betty Darnell; daughter, Dinah Hufford (Mark) of Florence and son Arthur T. Darnell, Jr. (Becky) of Piner; one granddaughter and 3 grandsons . Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place at the KY Veterans Cemetery in Williamstown, KY. Memorials can be made to Piner Baptist Church Building Fund, 15044 Madison Pike, Morning View, KY 41063-9664 or Hospice of St. Elizabeth Healthcare, 483 South Loop Road, Edgewood, KY 41017
