Obituary of Betty Combs

WALTON - Betty Jean Burgin Combs, age 74, of Walton, died Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Hospice of St. Elizabeth in Edgewood. She was a retired teacher for Kenton County School System and enjoyed sewing, cooking, and crafts. Ms. Combs was a home economics teacher at Dixie Heights High School for years and also taught in Grant County, Pendleton County, and Walton Verona. She was also a former 4-H leader, a member of AARP, the retired teachers association and the University of Cincinnati Bearcat Alumni Association. After her retirement, she and her husband enjoyed traveling and even worked for a company escorting wide diesel trailer loads. Survivors include her husband Christopher Combs of Walton; (2) daughters, Gina Noe of Richmond, KY and Joy Duddey of Georgetown, KY; and sister, Anna Ruth Cheek of Taylorsville, KY. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 16, 2010 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence. Funeral services will begin at 7 p.m. Interment will take place at Highview Cemetery at Chaplin, KY.
