James Henry Combs, age 78, of Florence, died Thursday, August 19, 2010, at University Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. He was a retired machinist for Lodge & Shipley Company and a U.S. Army Veteran. Mr. Combs was also a member of the American Legion Post #4 in Florence, KY and was active in their funeral honor detail. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Combs of Florence; son, Michael Combs of Fairfield Township, OH; daughter, Linda Romaniuk of Grove City, OH; brother, Arnold Combs of Versailles, IN; sister, Maxine Shorter of Reading, OH and (2) grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday, August 23, 2010 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home in Florence. Funeral service will begin at 12 noon. Interment will at Baltimore Avenue Cemetery in Cincinnati, OH. Memorials can be made to St. Jude's Childrens' Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
