Janice was part of a group of women who belonged to the Kenton County Citizens for Better Schools in the 1970s. She was very interested in making the schools a better place for all children and especially for special needs children. She is to be credited for working deligently in making improvements. It was a pleasure to know her and to work with her for the children. I liked her friendly nature and ever present smile. I'm sure she will be missed. She was a wonderful person. My condolences to her family.

Dearest Childress family, I was so sorry to hear the sad news; I had many good times in choir and church gatherings with Janice and the family. I enjoyed seeing her smiling face each Sunday when I was a greeter; and rejoiced with her as she healed from her bunion surgery. Though I have already moved away, I will still miss knowing that when I visit I will not see Janice's smiling face. I will be praying for the family, especially with the holidays so near. Janice was a treasured friend and since our return to Canada last year has been truly missed. We spent many hours together walking in our neighbourhood and those walks allowed us to discover a unique compatibility. Many laughs and discussions followed our early morning greetings and 2 miles together were often not enough to satisfy us and we would linger outside our homes for more 'us time'. Her keen intelligence and broad knowledge base kept me on my toes. She was devoted to her religion in an everyday manner that was inspiring. She was a mama bear to Jeff and Doug and a loving partner to Bill. To her many friends and family I encourage you to cherish your memories of Janice. She was a pistol! Farewell, our dear neighbour.
