I remember Uncle Johnny as always smiling or laughing. He and Uncle Bud worked together at New York Blower until the company left Chicago for Detroit in the 1960s. Aunt Jeanne was my godmother, and Susie and I went to high school together until the Breiers moved to Michigan. Uncle Johnny was a great guy, and he and my brother Ed had a great friendship, Ed and Uncle Johnny''s son Jay being the same age. I have pictures of Uncle Johnny and Aunt Jeanne with Susie and us when we were babies and toddlers. His hair was dark and thick and he had a kind and open face. I don't remember him as ever talking all that much, just smiling and laughing. He was a terrific guy. He was our last link to our parents' generation. He really will be missed. But he's now reunited with his beloved wife and children in a better place. Rest in peace, Uncle Johnny.
I feel honored to have met such a wonderful man...I not only cleaned for him but feel like we were friends... I loved to listen to his stories, he sure has seen a lot and been through a lot during all his years...He always said he was the last of the Mohicans since he had lost so many loved ones...My favorite memory is that he ALWAYS had live flowers in a vase next to his wife’s picture...What a sweet man he was... Rest In Peace John... We will miss you so much here but know you are reunited with loved ones you have lost and missed over the years.
I loved working out with Pops at the gym in town!!!! He always told me not to let Jay work me so hard in rehab ❤️❤️❤️
What a wonderful & loving man he was. I’m glad I had the chance to meet him. Sending prayers to the family
