Obituary of John William Breier
John William Breier, of Independence, KY passed away peacefully at Charter Senior Living at the glorious age of 98.
He was born in Chicago, IL on November 28, 1920; the youngest of nine children to the late John and Emma Breier. John retired as a customer service manager from Unistrut Steel and was a member of St. Barbara Church in Erlanger, KY. He was also a veteran of the United States Army, having served his country proudly during WWII and earned several distinctions including a Purple Heart. In his spare time, John enjoyed completing puzzles, woodworking and watching Detroit Tigers baseball and the University of Michigan football. His greatest joy, however, came from spending time with his cherished family whom he cared for deeply.
John was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jeanne Breier; a daughter, Susan Mullendore and a son, John “Jay” Breier.
He is survived by his caring grandchildren, Matthew (Dory) Mullendore, John Breier, Jessica (Heather) Breier and Carrie (Jaime) Antelo; 11 great-grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; as well as many other relatives and friends who will mourn his passing and cherish the memories he imparted to them.
A Gathering of Friends to honor John will take place from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
