Obituary of William "Duke" Leroy Scott

William “Duke” Leroy Scott of Morning View, KY, age 83, peacefully passed away in his home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, March 27, 2020. Duke was born the son of Otis and Lillian Scott in Covington, KY on August 21, 1936. He retired as an assistant foreman for the state highway department and continued to work in shuttle services at the airport. Duke was a Free Mason for 50 years and really enjoyed hunting, farming, and country music; but most of all he loved spending time with his beloved family, especially his grandchildren. Duke will be remembered as a hardworking man who loved God and took care of others.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Otis “Manny” Scott; granddaughter, Jessica Scott; Nephews, Frank Scott and William “Bo” Scott; and his niece, Toni. Survived to mourn his loss and cherish his memory is his loving wife of 27 years, Cynthia “Cindy” Scott; children, Pam Adams, Larry (Lee) Adams, Andy (Jamie) Scott, and John (Jennifer) Rider; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; multiple nieces and nephews; as well as many other friends and family members who will miss him dearly.
Based upon the safety guidelines set forth by the Commonwealth of Kentucky, due to the COVID-19 alert, services will be private at the convenience of the family. Larry Adams will be officiating the service. Duke will be laid to rest at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
