Obituary of Christopher Girard

     Christopher Girard of Independence passed away peacefully at the age of 45 on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at his home. Chris earned a Master’s Degree in Secondary Math Education at University of Kentucky. He was a math teacher and coach of the academic team at Simon Kenton High School. Chris really enjoyed trivia and random knowledge; any kind of contests of intellect. He was also a big fan of UK sports, especially basketball, and even enjoyed playing golf. His greatest joy, however, was spending time with his family.

     He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Kim Girard; his beloved daughter, Emily Girard; parents, Debbie (Gary) Margolen and Grant (Susan) Girard; siblings, Nicole (Nick) Hostetler and Eric Girard; grandmother, Neta Highhouse; as well as many other friends and family who will cherish his memory.

     A private service will be held at the convenience of the family and Chris will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Erlanger, KY.
