Randy was a great neighbor who would do anything for you. Hardest working man I ever knew.

I have many found memories of Randy as I’ve know him 30 plus years. One of my earliest memories of Randy was he had picked up a snapping turtle off the side of the road and he had it in the bed of his truck. We we’re at my papal’s farm on Frogtown Rd. Randy was showing me how strong the bite of a snapping turtle are by taking a stick and placing it close to the turtles mouth and of course the turtle would bite the stick in half. Being a 8-9 year old boy and this being the closest I’d ever been to a snapping turtle I couldn’t see way any thing that ugly and smelly and at that time mean deserved to live. I told Randy I wanted to shoot that turtle. And he looked at me like I had three heads, and said now what did that turtle do to you? What has he done to deserve to die? He said I didn’t save him from getting run over just to bring him here to kill him. I’ll take him and turn him lose this evening. Randy truly did have a love for all animals. His compassion really showed to me that day and I’ll always remember that about him. Rip my friend.

RIP Randy, I will miss our neighbor chats. You were always so good to Joe & I when we moved to Pelly. The girls always loved watching you out the window to see what projects you were working on. Just a few weeks ago you were moving around dirt and they sat on the porch watching you and you waved back at them and they loved that. I also don’t know what will happen when the next large semi comes down the street and can’t turn around. You were always out there helping direct traffic and get them safely out of our street. You will be missed, fly high Randy!
