Obituary of Ida Maxine Pennington McCubbin

Ida Maxine Pennington McCubbin, age 91, of Walton, KY went on to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood, KY.  She was a former manager with the Internal Revenue Service and a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Walton, KY, in her retirement.   

Maxine’s real passion though was loving and helping people.  She enjoyed getting to know and helping people in the Walton-Verona community, and especially at First Baptist Church of Walton, where she was a member for over 69 years. Maxine never met a stranger.  Over the years, she served on numerous committees including the personnel committee, prayer chain committee, and the bereavement committee, along with her beloved husband (of 70 years), J.B. McCubbin.  Other dear members of the family she loved include her son, Tim McCubbin (Laura); grandsons, T.J. McCubbin (Lindsay) and Conner McCubbin (Katherine); and her brother-in-law, Floyd Humphrey.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Noah and Julia Bowling Pennington; sisters, Rhoda Humphrey and Rosetta Snow; and brothers, Elmer Pennington, Virgil Pennington, and Elconer Pennington.
