Obituary of William Franklin Kromer
William Franklin Kromer, of Walton, KY passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence, KY at the age of 88. He was born in Round Mountain, TX on July 14, 1932; the son of the late Otto and Julia Kromer. Bill proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked and retired from Lingo Manufacturing as a sheet metal fabricator. Bill was also a member of Taylor Mill Pentecostal Church in Taylor Mill, KY. In his spare time, Bill often enjoyed reading, gardening and woodworking. He had a fondness for country and bluegrass music and loved to eat home-cooked meals.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Bertha Barclay; three brothers, Johnny Kromer, Jim Kromer, Milton Kromer; and son Samuel “Sammy” Kromer. Those surviving to carry on Bill’s legacy include his wife, Nora Kromer; children, Janet Carlisle, Vickie (Dave) Heath, Michael (Sherry) Kromer and Chris Kromer; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; as well as many other close relatives and friends.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Bill will be laid to rest with military honors at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North, 205 Eibeck Lane, Williamstown, KY 41097.
