I worked with Ted (or BOT as I called him) at The Elite Agency in Lexington and I just found out about his passing. He was a great guy and a true friend and I know that he loved his family very much. He was so proud of all of his children and everything that they have accomplished. I know that they will go on to do great things because they had a great role model. I’m truly sorry for the loss of a great man that I proudly called a friend.

Pat, I will remember Ted as a man of faith who loved his family and who devoted himself to coaching his own children and so many others. Our family will cherish memories of Union Raiders youth football and the many conversations we shared when you all would be driving back home from Minnesota Gophers games. Ted embodied what it means to be a servant leader in his service to our country and community. Our thoughts and prayers will continue to be with you, Tyler, Tanner and Grace.

Pat, if I could bestow you with strength I would make it last long after all the people disperse and the grief sets in. I know too well the challenges that come with being a widow. You will be angry, sad, lonely, celebratory of the life you made, and sentimental… sometimes all at once. Allow yourself to move through it and let Christ carry you through the hard times. One of my favorite songs to sing out loud during my divorce and then the death of my ex was “Just Be Held” by Counting Crowns. Peace and blessings be with you and yours. — Karen Hallett, mother of Austin Beier (Gophers #63)

Ted was one of the few people you meet in your life that you know makes your life better having known them. We served together on the “Connie”, but more than that, we were friends. He loved his Lord, his family, and his country with all he had. Truly a good man. Fair winds and following seas my friend. Justin Medford
