Obituary of James C. Acuff

James Carson Acuff, age 79, of Walton, KY, passed away Friday, January 13, 2023, at his residence.  He was a retired Inventory Manager for Levi Strauss (after 38 years), an independent Income Tax Preparer, and a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church.  “J.C.” enjoyed working in his garden and watching sports, especially when his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were participating.  He is survived by his wife (of 52 years), Barbara A. Coffey Acuff; daughters, Karen Acuff, Kim Childress, and Jennifer Lay; sons, James Jeffrey “Jeff” Acuff (Becky), Jacob Carson Acuff, and Jay Anthony Acuff (Krista); eleven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.  His visitation will be Monday, January 16, 2023, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051.  The funeral service will be Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.  Interment will be at New Bethel Cemetery in Verona, KY.  Memorials may be made to Hickory Grove Baptist Church Daycare, 11969 Taylor Mill Rd., Independence, KY 41051.  For directions, to view his Life Tribute Video, or to leave the family a message of condolence, please go to www.chambersandgrubbs.com.
