Obituary of Kathleen Smith

Kathleen (Bingham) Smith, 68, of Independence, KY, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Edgewood, KY surrounded by her loving family. Kathy retired from Gateway Community and Technical College as a Cafeteria Manager. She enjoyed gardening and most of all being with family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Evelyn (nee: Jones) Chandler, former husband, Stephen Bingham and sister, Marilyn Napier. Kathleen is survived by her loving husband of 23yrs., Dave Smith, children, Shawna Hyden, Seth Bingham, Sarah Hartloff, Scott Bingham, sister, Joann Bohn and brothers, John Chandler, Matt Chandler and Mark Chandler. She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild plus 2 son-n-laws. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 11, 2023, from 2:00PM to 4:00PM at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Homes, Independence, KY with funeral services will follow at 4:00pm.
