Obituary of Lauren Alyssa Collins
Lauren Alyssa Collins, age 18, of Independence, KY, tragically passed away in Cincinnati, OH, Saturday, July 16, 2023, from an automobile accident in Richwood, KY.
Lauren was a full-time student, majoring in Fashion Merchandising, Apparel and Textiles at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY, and a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority. She attended and graduated high school from Simon Kenton in May of 2022, where she had been a member of the Dance Team, and formerly engaged in taking and helping to teach at The Dance Center in Independence. For several years, she worked part-time at Emerson’s Bakery in Florence, KY and recently Buffalo Wild Wings in Independence. Lauren had a vivacious personality and was a great friend. She attracted people to herself as a “free spirit” and was always very animated and enjoyed being a “jokester”. Lauren was known for her style and ability to light up a room.
She was preceded in death by grandfathers, Harry Collins and Michael Blythe. Left to mourn her passing and carry on her legacy are her mother, Amy Marsh (Jeremy); father, Keith Collins; brother, Kyle Collins; step-brother, Austin Marsh; grandparents, Paul and Ollie Seidman, and Kathy Collins; aunt, Colleen Thomas (Michael) and Keith’s significant other, Kara Rehkamp, and her sons, Jackson Chamblee and Troy Chamblee; and many other family members and friends. A prayer service will be held Saturday, July 22, 2023, from 3:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051.
