My dear Aunt Pattie was always one of the sweetest and kindest people to be around. I always Loved going to her and Uncle Tom’s house to hang out w/Carlee and Katie (Keith too, but he was still a baby), when we were growing up because Aunt Pattie always knew how to make you feel right at home and I loved getting to talk to her when I would be over there.
And not only did I Love hanging out at Aunt Pattie and Uncle Tom’s, but my mom said they were her first ‘go to couple’ anytime my parents needed to go out of town: My dad for work business trips throughout the U.S. and my mom to Atlanta for any Delta Airlines’ trainings.
And one time when my youngest brother Patrick was only like 1 or 2 years old, my parents took the other 4 of us older kids to Disneyland on vacation, and for the several days we were gone, lil Patrick stayed with Aunt Pattie and Uncle Tom to get to hang out with his cousin Keith etc.
And, Aunt Pattie shared with my mom, that after a few days of listening to Keith always call her, “Mom”, Patrick started calling her ‘Mom’ too, and one day Patrick walked over to Aunt Pattie at the kitchen sink and tugged on the bottom of her shorts and said, “Mom, where’s mom..?”
Sooooo, it just goes to show you, how caring and motherly Aunt Pattie always was to all of us nieces and nephews, no matter our age, that even from the youngest of us to the oldest, we always knew we could go to her, as a ‘second mom’, and for that, I will forever be thankful.
Thank you Aunt Pattie for so many years of laughter and fun hanging out at your house and at the family gatherings, and it has been a true blessing to know you, to love you, and to be able to call you my Aunt❤️. With so much Love in my Heart for you, and my Sincerest Thanks for so many Wonderful Memories, Your Loving Niece, Julie Hayes

I love to remember when Pattie was 10 and I was 8 yrs. old. We took swimming lessons together at the Y. We took the bus there by ourselves.
Pattie learned to swim. I learned to Doggie Paddle. When it was time to be tested, Pattie passed with flying colors. Swimming the length of the pool with a doggie paddle stroke, I never would have passed. If it hadn’t been for Pattie walking alongside the pool, telling me
“Keep going, you can do it Sandy”.
Pattie cheered me on the whole way. I’ll always remember how good it felt to know she had confidence in me.
