She was the Aunt "next door". Next door to Grandma Lizzie that is. In the early days there was an empty lot between the "big house" and Bob and Alma's. My brother and I made dozens of trips across that lot to visit Patti in those days. Alma was always so glad to have us there. Then when Grandma moved from the big house to the new house - built on that vacant lot - we were even closer. I will never claim a "favorite" aunt - each was special - but Alma was the one that we saw the most on our trips there. I'll always remember her kindness and hospitality, amd her genuine interest in what her nephews were doing. I treasure the three paintings I have of hers, an Indian boy and girl, and a forest scene. I missed seeing her in her later years, but this photo is just the way I remember her. To Bill, Pat, Bobbie, and David - I share your loss - and will miss her as you will. But what joy to know that she's in the arms of her sisters, Mom and Dad again!
